Angad Bedi, the son of late Indian cricketer Bishan Singh Bedi is a popular actor. Apart from Bollywood movies, he has worked in Punjabi movies like Rangeelay. Belonging to a Sikh family, in a recent interview, he shared how he decided to cut his hair when he was 18 or 19. However, this left his father hurt.
Angad mentioned that he is a Bedi, who are considered to be a direct descendant of Guru Nanak, and even his father donned a colourful patka. So, Angad’s decision disturbed his father, who did not talk to him for over a decade.
He said, “He was hurt, not angry. Hurt is a deeper emotion than anger. I am a Bedi, a direct descendent of Guru Nanak. There were a lot of people who advised me to grow my hair again. Maybe I will someday.”
He went on to share that the reason for cutting his hair was for his career. He added that a person directly said to him that long hair won’t make him get more work which persuaded him to cut his hair. Despite being disappointed over Angad’s decision, when Bishan Singh Bedi saw Angad’s performance in the film, ‘Pink‘, he was left impressed. It made the veteran cricketer proud, who praised Angad and asked him to carefully choose the right films in the future.
