Singer B Praak was among the first celebrities to speak out against YouTuber Ranveer Allahbadia after the controversy over his perceived inappropriate remark on India’s Got Talent erupted on social media. The singer had called Ranveer’s comment on the show “ghatiya” and also declared that he had dropped out of an appearance on Ranveer’s show.
Following Praak’s statement, speculations arose that he was never invited to Ranveer’s podcast in the first place. However, in a recent interview, the singer has now set the record straight.
During a recent conversation, when asked if he was invited to Ranveer’s show, Praak clarified, “I liked watching his podcasts and I really wanted to go on his show. Our teams had been discussing the dates for six-seven months. Sometimes, he would be busy and travelling, and sometimes I would be.”
While Praak had initially lashed out at Ranveer for his comment, he has now taken a more forgiving stance. He maintained that, as someone the youth looks up to, Ranveer should be more mindful of his words. He said, “Galat tha, lekin mujhe lagta hai agar koi dil se pachhtaakar maanfi maang raha ho then society ought to forgive him. Kuchh baatein galat hoti hain, par hum bol jaate hain. But nobody should get hurt because of it. If you forgive someone, you become the bigger person.”
Earlier, Praak had shared a video message after Ranveer’s comment on Samay Raina’s show went viral. He had strongly criticized Ranveer, saying, “I was supposed to appear on a podcast, on BeerBiceps, and we cancelled that.”
He added, “Aur yeh Ranveer Allahbadia, aap Sanatan Dharma ko promote karte ho, spirituality ki baat karte ho. Aapke podcast pe itne bade-bade log aate hain, itne bade sant aate hain, aur fir bhi aapki soch itni ghatiya hai?”
