Popular Punjabi singer and actor Rajvir Jawanda was admitted to a private hospital in Mohali following critical injuries he sustained in a motorcycle accident in Himachal Pradesh’s Solan district. He was brought to Fortis Hospital in Mohali at 1:45 pm in an “extremely critical” condition, the hospital said in a statement, adding that Jawanda had sustained serious head and spine injuries in the accident and is currently on ventilator support.
Before being shifted to Mohali, Jawanda was taken to a hospital in Solan where he suffered a cardiac arrest. According to the statement, on arrival, the singer was immediately assessed by teams from emergency and neurosurgery departments. Detailed examinations were carried out, and he was placed on advanced life support. He is currently on ventilator support and remains in a critical state under close monitoring, it said.
The 35-year-old was on way to Shimla on his motorcycle when he lost control of the bike and met with an accident near Baddi, police said.
Meanwhile, soon after the news of his unfortunate accident surfaced, several Punjabi celebrities including Punjab CM Bhagwant Mann, Education Minister Harjot Singh Bains, and Punjab Congress chief Amrinder Singh Raja Warring, Jazzy B and Ammy Virk posted for the speedy recovery of Jawanda.
