Punjabi actress Neeru Bajwa has engulfed herself in a controversy for allegedly hurting religious sentiments in her upcoming Punjabi movie, Boohey Baariyan. According to reports, it has been alleged by the Valmiki community that the film has tried to demean their community. Despite the members associated with the film apologized, amidst that the female lead of the film, Neeru Bajwa has appeared at Amristar court who was accompanied by the writer of the film, Jagdeep Warring.
Jagdeep Warring remarked that their intention was never to hurt anyone. They apologized in front of the Ram Mandir, honorable court, and on social media. The information provided suggests that the opposition to the movie claimed that it portrayed the roles of both high and lower castes, with the latter group being represented by those who pick up cow dung and lack the ability to compete the Sarpanchi elections. In addition to this, it has also been asserted that Phoolan Devi was depicted wrongly in this movie and that the artists had the responsibility to be mindful of Phoolan Devi’s background. In addition, the leaders claim that watching these kinds of movies will negatively impact their children as well.
