On May 12, the announcement regarding Amrinder Gill's Ashke was made officially and the first look showed a turbanned Amrinder standing tall. The very same post also said that the film will be releasing on 27th July, 2018.
Though the makers had been constantly saying that the announcement is a big one but till date, the way things having been rolling out for this film, the big feeling is definitely not there.
Now, since only 16 days are left for the film's release, we got an update from gupt sutras that the shoot of this film is still pending!
Probably that's the reason why the makers haven't released any teaser or trailer till now. Only a poster was released a day ago which showed a team of 9 turbanned men on a yellow background faintly showing a college and two among those men were Amrinder Gill and Jaswinder Bhalla. Presumably, this one is a winning bhangra team because Bhalla is seen holding a trophy.
Though the story seems to revolve around a college based bhangra group, the reason why we are in a dilemma is the film's pending shoot.
According to sources close to the development, this Karaj Gill directorial has some portions from Canada and Punjab, still pending for shoot. Also, the dubbing for the film has not started till now.
In such a case, one question that arises is - Why hasn't the team planned things in advance and also, if such a film was in the pipeline, why announce a release date in haste??
The lead actress, from what we know is debutante Sanjeeda Sheikh and for those of you who should know, on 27th July, another film from Batra Productions is also scheduled for release. Though not a very promising project but still there was a line up already.
Surprising! Making films a funny business eh?
