Popular Punjabi singer Kamal Khaira alongwith his friend have been arrested by the Chandigarh police for allegedly assaulting two brothers.

According to the police, the complainant, Hardik Ahluwalia, a resident of New Chandigarh, alleged that he, alongwith his brother on Wednesday night around 10:20 p.m. was returning home from Punjab University when a rash Thar, bearing Mohali registration number, hit their car while overtaking near Gate No. 2 of the university. Furthermore, it has been alleged that Kamal and his friend got down from the car and started argument with him and his brother. The singer and his friend assaulted both victims and fled from the spot. Also Read : Sad News: Golden Star Malkit Singh’s Father Passes Away

After the incident, both got blunt injuries and were admitted to Government Multi-Speciality Hospital (GMSH), Sector 16. As per a police officer, they had received a complaint after which they verified the facts and lodged an FIR. However, they were later released on a regular bail.  

A case has been registered under IPC sections Sections 279, 337, 323, 341 and 506 at Sector 11 police station. 

For the unversed, Kamal Khaira is known for songs like ‘Aakad’, ‘Bhabhi’ and many more.
