CM Bhagwant Mann Plans Film City In Punjab, Says, “I’m Here To Connect The Punjabi Cinema Industry & Bollywood

The CM of Punjab, Bhagwant Mann on Sunday had gone for a two-day visit to Mumbai-also known as India’s financial and business capital to meet industry leaders for investments in the state.

During the tour, the Chief Minister will be meeting business delegations and prominent companies to rope in investments. He will be meeting leading business tycoons for strategic tie ups in key sectors. Furthermore, the CM will also be inviting the captains of industry to visit the state in the Invest Punjab Summit which is scheduled to be held next month at SAS Nagar, Mohali. The CM has opined that, meanwhile, this visit will drive the state’s industrial growth, it will also open new employment opportunities for the youth.

ESTABLISHMENT OF FILM CITY:

In addition to this, the CM also said that the Punjab Government is contemplating over the establishment of a large film city in the state. Requesting major film studios in Mumbai to establish their studios in Punjab, he has also expressed his desire to connect Punjabi cinema with Bollywood. “We are planning to establish a big film city in Punjab. I will request film studios in Mumbai to establish their studios in Punjab also. I am here to connect the Punjabi cinema industry and Bollywood,” said Bhagwant Mann.

He added, “Since a large number of my friends from the film industry are settled in Mumbai, I will request them to open their ventures in Punjab…Punjabi film industry is already very big and this proposed Film City will further give wings to it for expansion.”
