Peel Regional Police of Canada has issued an arrest warrant against a 37-year-old Punjabi Jaspal Singh Thiara for the fraudulent sale of music and sporting event tickets. An official statement by the authority has also been issued.
The statement read, “Region of Peel – Peel Regional Police would like to inform the public of an advance fee scam involving the fraudulent sale of music and sporting event tickets in the Greater Toronto Area.”
“From February to October 2024, a comprehensive investigation began after multiple fraud reports were received alleging that a suspect fraudulently sold concert and sporting event tickets to an unsuspecting victim, disguising them as being from legitimate and reputable ticket sale companies. Investigators believe the victim in these incidents are at a financial loss of over $38,000.00,” the statement further added.
Thiara is already on a Judicial release for similar charges. Given the heightened concert awareness in the GTA this week, it is believed he may still be actively seeking additional unsuspecting victims.
Investigators believe that additional victims may exist.
