Asa Nu Maan Watna Da completes 20 years of its release. The much loved film is relevant even after two decades of its release. It was the second release from the team of Jee Aayan Nu, so expectations were already so high and of course the film lived up to the expectations.
Recently, art director of the film, Tirath Singh Gill talked to us and shared gave insights into making of the film.

“While it’s believed Asa Nu Maan Watna Da got launched after the success of Jee Aayan Nu, it was already incepted when the shoot of Jee Aayan Nu was going on abroad. It was on the Jee Aayan Nu shoot producers of Asa Nu Maan Watna Da met Mann Ji(Manmohan Singh) and showed an interest in producing the next film with the same team. The success of Jee Aayan Nu was like an icing on the cake,” he shared.
“Film’s shoot had taken place in Philaur and Jalandhar. While the song Mahiya Main Laung Gawa Aayi Aa shown to be based in Canada’s university, it was filmed in a marriage palace of Kapoorthala,” he further revealed.

Not only the film but its songs are evergreen. The Mahiya Song is a must at most of the celebratory events while the Lohri song of the film is the most popular song which represents the winter festival of Punjab.
