Rajvir Jawanda’s death has left the entire nation mourning, especially fans of Punjabi music. The singer battled for his life for 11 days before passing away on October 8, 2025. However, amid the sorrow, a shocking incident has left everyone stunned.
As the singer’s mortal remains were brought to his native village, Pona, hundreds of fans and industry figures gathered to pay their last respects. Amid the crowd, chaos erupted when several people realised their mobile phones had gone missing.
According to reports, over 150 phones were stolen during the funeral. Singer Gagan Kokri revealed in a social media video that his phone, along with those of Jasbir Jassi, Pinky Dhaliwal, and many others from the Punjabi music industry, were among the stolen items.
Calling the act “extremely shameful,” Kokri suggested that the theft appeared to be the work of a gang of 20–25 individuals who took advantage of the emotional gathering. He urged the public to share any information that could help identify the culprits.
As reported by Punjab Kesari, several attendees struggled to return home after losing their phones, unable to navigate or contact family members. The incident has sparked widespread outrage, overshadowing the solemn farewell to one of Punjab’s most beloved voices.
