A war of words has broken out between Indian Punjabi filmmaker Rakesh Dhawan and Pakistani actor Iftikhar Thakur, following Thakur’s controversial claim that Indian Punjabi films cannot become hits without Pakistani actors.
Thakur’s statement, which implied that the success of Indian Punjabi films heavily depends on talent from Pakistan, has drawn sharp criticism from the Indian side. Reacting strongly, Rakesh Dhawan, who has written and directed several successful Punjabi films, hit back with a scathing social media post, accusing Thakur of arrogance and disrespect.
Dhawan who has collaborated with Thakur on movies like Chal Mera Putt frnachise shared the video of Pakistani comedian and stated, “Oh @ifitkharthakur9 ,tere ser te tera ghar nahi chalda punjabi cinema suvaah chalna ,,gall kar teri ess chabbal maran to pahla asi film bana chukke c that’s why release karni peni hai kyonki producer da ki kasoor hai jinne enna pesa layeya.. “
He continued by writing, “eh khach tu set te maari hundi te puttar tera muh Kala karka zahaaz te chaadna c asi,tu te teri drama kaum ne vulger comedy to ilawa kitta ki h life ch ,CMP ne thohnu family audience ditti.. ..oh chaggal zamaane deya thohnu thohde lok hi nahi lende films ch , aah tv shows eh interview jo tusi 4-5 saal to kar rahe ho CMp di den hai , nahi te har sacha musalman thohnu haraam samjhda si te thohde kamm nu vi …teri sirf oh hi film chali hai jo mere naal kitti hai tu ..hor jinniya films tu kittiya sab flop..he main oh sab tere Jhuthe kisse dasste audience nu jo tu set te sunana te teri aapni aawam ne tenu chhittar ferne..kamm ki band hoya sala pagal ho gya ,Nasir bhaji ess fuddu nu samjhao ummar de naal akal aandi hai ehnu aaj tak aayi hi nahi te ummar jaan wali honchaki ehdi.”
In addition to this, he also shared a series of stories and video on his Instagram stories. In one of the video, he is heard saying, “Thakur…mere putt thanda reh, sach vi boleya karo haji saab haji saab kohane ho….sach vi boleya karo te appan sach bol ditta tan tuhadi ki izzat reh jaani hai Lahore ch…aukaat mein raho.”
He also posted a series of Instagram stories slamming the comedian. He went on to alleged him of manipularting people for money as he wrote, “Lehnde Punjab wale veero jo eh Thakur hospital or blood donations de naam te pesa kaththa kar reha, oh scam hai…ennu donation na deyo.”
Not holding back, he also warned the fans of Iftikhar Thakur mentioning, “Thakur de supporter sun lo, mene indo pak ki sabse zyada films likhi, kisi ek film mein ek lafz paak k khilaf na likha na bolne diya…magar ab Thakur ne had paar ki hai…ab sochke comment karna warna m jawaab comments mein nahi aane wali films se dunga…fer kahoge tara Pakistan aa gaya.”
