A day after Diljit Dosanjh’s Bhangra team refuted claims of non-payment, the singer’s manager also refuted claims made by Rajat Batta, an LA-based entrepreneur.
Actually, popular model and actress Manpreet Toor also taking to her social media raised voice against the singer. She stated though she had no direct involvement with the tour, however she was swarmed with messages about not being fairly compensated.
Acknowledging the fact that she has a platform, she spoke on behalf of other dancers. She stated that she has a ‘great deal of respect’ for singers who goes out of their way to give dance a platform, and that she doesn’t doubt they’re well-intentional human beings.
She wrote, “My intention is not to create division in our community, but to start conversations that will strengthen it. I hope that through this conversation, we can all better understand and appreciate the hard work, time and dedication dancers put in when we participate in shows, so that we can be valued as Artists.”
Hitting back at Toor’s claims, Diljit’s manager Sonali Singh clarified that neither Rajat Batta nor Manpreet Toor were ever contacted or involved in Diljit’s tour, dismissing the false narratives presented by them.
She wrote on Instagram, “Our official team never contacted Rajat Batta or Manpreet Toor, who are spreading false narratives on social media. Rajat and Manpreet were not part of the Dil-Luminati Tour in any way.”
She further mentioned that the official choreographers for the tour were Balwinder Singh, Preet Chahal, Divya, and Parth from Vancouver. Sonali concluded the statement by emphasising that those not involved in the tour should refrain from spreading misinformation.
