Veteran actor Kabir Bedi is one of the extremely talented and versatile actors we’ve ever had. Hailing from Punjab, he has been quite active in Bollywood. He has also worked in several Punjabi films. In an exclusive interview with GhaintPunjab, the actor was asked about that one thing which even years after still connects him to Punjab.
To this, Bedi had a heart-warming reply as he expressed his belief by stating, “One connection I’ve with Punjab is my parents. My father was from Dera Baba Nanak, he comes from the Bedi family and my mother did Satyagrah on behalf of Mahatma Gandhi at Dera Baba Nanak. I was born in Lahore which was the capital of undivided Punjab and while sitting in Chandigarh, I am at the capital of new Punjab, after Lahore. So, there are so many relations with Punjab.”
He further continues, “Every time I go to Harmandir Sahib, I feel a spiritual experience te enj lagda hai main ghar aa gaya han.” He went on to recall his memories of visiting his home town. Having said that, Bedi stated that he hasn’t lived much in Punjab yet he believes, “You can take Punjabi out of Punjab but you can never take Punjab out of a Punjabi.”
