Popular model turned actor Karanveer Khullar is recognized for his works in movies like ‘Please Kill Me’, ‘Rocky Mental’, ‘Je Tere Naal Pyaar Na Hunda’ amongst others. He started off his career as a model and is also a trained theater artist. His impactful performances in the movie speak volumes about his excellency in the craft. However, the bitter truth pertaining to Punjabi industry lies in the fact that despite immensely talented actors, it is actually the singers who dominate the film industry.
In an exclusive interview with GhaintPunjab, the actor was asked about the same. In response to which, Karanveer Khullar opined it is a producer’s decision to have a singer on board following his ‘market value’. He said, “I think there is nothing wrong in it because how will he recover (his investments). It’s basically a paradox. Now, if a singer is cast in the film, then the question lies how will he perform or if people will accept him as an actor.”
He further continues by saying, “Then actors like us are sidelined, so there are so many factors.”
Citing examples of legendary actor Guggu Gill, Karanveer expressed his belief that even in those times there used to be singers who would rule the industry, and it stands true even today. This is the reality that singers in the Punjabi industry will always lead, and theater artists will be behind.”
