The trailer of upcoming Punjabi movie Kakaji Son of Royal Sardar has released. The movie is under the banner of Dream Reality Movies & Ravneet Chahal and is directed by Mandeep Benipal. The story is penned by Gill Raunta. Kakaji has Dev Kharoud and Aarushi Sharma as the leading pair. Jagjeet Sandhu, Seher , Dheeraj Kumar, Lucky Dhaliwal, Anita Meet, Parkash Gadhu & Gurmeet Sajan play other important roles in the movie. It is all set to release on 18th January 2019 .
The story of the movie isn’t a complicated one. Dev Kharoud plays the son of a rich family. He falls in love with Aarushi Sharma. The whole twist happens when Aarushi’s family gets to know about the affair and Aarushi gets married to someone else. Jilted lover Dev is hurt, upset yet angry and wants to take revenge. There is romance-comedy – action in the trailer itself.
The trailer starts by showing the earlier work of this team. It quotes that this is a product from the makers of Rupinder Gandhi, Rupinder Gandhi 2 and Dakuaan Da Munda, and our expectations soar sky high. But in just a few minutes they fall flat. The movie is a commotion of too many commercial elements. Writer Gill Raunta seems to have penned a script with too many tried and tested elements but still, the story falls flat on the face. Director Mandeep Benipal has given Punjabi industry content rich cinema but seems like he's trying to pave his way into the current commercial herd. Though he has captured a few emotions well, we don’t get invested in the story of the characters.
Actor Dev Kharoud who has been appreciated for his previous work seems to have chosen a role weaker to his caliber. This role doesn’t have any meat to it. Actress Aarushi looks fine in the trailer, her acting skills would be seen in the movie. Character artiste Jagjeet Sandhu seems to fit in just to add the punch at the right points.
The makers had good actors but instead of investing in a good hearty story they choose to make a story that would have exquisite locations, commercial songs, action, and punches for the audience.
From the makers as well as the lead actor, our expectations were surely much more than this. Releasing in the first month of 2019, we aren’t quite excited about this one.
