Over the span of her career, Indian actress Aditi Dev Sharma has proved to be one of those actresses who have the talent to act naturally. Aditi, who was discovered from an acting contest has worked for all, be it Yash Raj or the Mukta Arts Film Company in Hindi cinema.
Aditi ventured into Punjabi Cinema with one of the most popular films from the last decade, i.e. ‘Angrej (2015)’. But not many know that the actress almost finalized another film before ‘Angrej’ to mark her debut! Also Read: World War II Veteran Colonel Prithipal Singh Gill Passes Away
The film in question is the 2014 Babbu Maan starrer ‘Baaz (2014)’. In fact, she was announced as the leading lady in it. However, right before the shoot began, Aditi had to opt-out of the role.
When asked about this last-minute change, Aditi told the GhaintPunjab team, “Simerjit sir called me for ‘Baaz’. But I had work commitments in Hindi Films when the shoot of Baaz was to go on. So I could not do the film. It was so kind of him that he later approached me for Angrez. I liked the subject and felt Angrez is a good film to start my journey in Punjabi Films”. Due to the time clashes from Aditi’s side, the team selected actress Pooja Verma from the auditions, to replace Aditi.
If we talk about the current status of Aditi’s films, her film ‘Ikko Mikke’ opposite singer-actor Satinder Sartaaj was recently re-released. She was also seen doing a cameo appearance in director Amberdeep Singh’s recent release ‘Teeja Punjab’. Among other things, Aditi will also be seen opposite actor Ranjit Bawa in their upcoming flick ‘Parahuna 2’, which will release in March 2022.
