Popular Bollywood actor Randeep Hooda is all set for his OTT debut with the Netflix’s crime thriller series, ‘CAT’ where he will be seen playing a turbaned undercover policeman who tries to bust a drug syndicate.
The actor who is busy with the promotions for the film recently talked about his preparations for the role and his views on Sikh community. While talking to a leading daily, he also expressed his views on the usual portrayal of Sikhs in the entertainment industry. Randeep while talking to a leading daily stated, “The idea was to get rid of the cardboard image of Sikhs and their depiction which is usually just Balle Balle or butt of the joke or slapping thighs and flexing biceps which is not exactly what they are. Rather, Sikh people are very humble, spiritual, deep, cultured and mannered people. So, we’re trying to do that so part of preparation was getting to the bottom of that”. Set in the backdrop of Punjab, the film will also star Punjabi actors like Neha Pawar and Gurpreet Ghuggi. The film will release on December 09.
