Jeeto Celebrates Its One Year, Sdr Fauja Singh His 112th

Marking a successful one year of Jeeto, a powerful awareness initiative sensitising people on breast cancer was organised today at Mohali Club, Sector 65.

The awareness campaign is a joint initiative of Paragon Senior Secondary School, Sector 69, Nanhe Manke Play Way School & Foundation and Sach Di Awaaz, Surrey, British Columbia which aims at spreading awareness amongst the general public and support to all the Breast Cancer fighters, survivors and care takers. Now, celebrating its successful one year, the event was organised by Deep Shergill in collaboration with Nargis Dutt Foundation, the associate sponsored event by GhaintPunjab, Cakewalkers and Mind Sketchers.

While Lt. Gen Cheema was the special guest of honour, veteran Punjabi singers, Dolly Guleria, Bir Singh and Sh. Amit Talwar, IAS, Director- Punjab Sports and Youth Services were the guest of honours and Parminder Jaiswal was the chief guest of the event.

The special occasion was graced by the presence of various keynote speakers including Dr Harshinder Kaur, popularly known as Steel Woman of India, Prof Harjinder Singh Walia, Professor and motivational speaker, Dr Kiranjeet Randhawa Principal at MLU DAV College Phagwara, Ms Gurleen Kaur Dhanoa Indian Journalist, film critic and Founder Director of Punjab’s most elite media company Ghaint Punjab Media Private Limited, Dr Ruby Ahuja, Qualified and Experienced Clinical Psychologist, Dr Ramandeep Kaur, Specialist in Obstetrics and Gynaecology, Dr Sandeep Kukkar, Consultant Oncologist, Sohana Hospital Mohali. It is a proud moment that the Nargis Dutt Foundation, which has been active in health care, disaster relief, women’s empowerment, education, and sports for the past 40 years, has for the first time joined hands in Punjab, and that too with Jeeto. All of this could become possible with the cooperation of Priya Dutt.

Jeeto’s one year celebration became even more special and memorable as it celebrated 112^th birthday of Bapu Fauja Singh along with the presence of Ms Sunaini Sharma, Prabhwani Aneja and Dr Jaskiran Kaur (NMIMS Chandigarh).

In addition to this, ‘Champions Of Life’ (Survivors and Fighters of the Breast Cancer) from PAN Punjab and Delhi NCR, between the age of 12-15 years namely, Kaajal Palli, Balraj Kaur Randhawa, Ramanjit Kaur Sidhu, Opinder Sekhon, Amardeep Kaur and Gurdeep Kaur participated in the ramp walk giving out a strong and bold message to be a fighter.

A video message of popular Bollywood actress Sonali Bendre who is also a cancer survivor was also played.

As a matter of fact, more than 100 scans were conducted during the latest campaign of ‘Jeeto’, out of which, 14 scans required further investigations. Now, Jeeto initiative will help and assist the needy ones further for the treatment belonging to the below poverty line.

In the due course of its time, Jeeto intends to extend its wings to PAN India.
