South Asian artists have long made their mark at the Juno Awards. Yet again bringing pride back home, AP Dhillon won the award in the South Asian Music Recording of the Year category for his musical album, Brownprint.
The singer faced a tough competition from other artists who were nominated for their projects as mentioned below
- Karan Aujla – Tauba Tauba
- Jonita Gandhi – Love Like That
- Sandeep Narayan & Yanchan Produced – Arul
- Chani Nattan, Inderpal Moga & Jazzy B – Coolin
Dhillon was presented the honor by Neeru Bajwa.
Expressing happiness about the same, she also shared a video from the event as she graced the coveted event accompanied by her husband. “A long overdue moment…finally south asians are recognized and celebrated at the #junos an absolute honour to be able to present the inagural award for “best south asian recording”

,” she wrote in the caption.
As Ikky, creative director of 91 North Records talking about the recognition to South Asian artists mentioned, “This is no experiment; it’s the future.”
In addition to this, one of the most electrifying moments of the night came when Chani Nattan, Inderpal Moga, and Jazzy B hit the stage to perform their viral hit, Coolin. The song, which has over four million streams on Spotify, brought the Junos audience to its feet, blending traditional Punjabi beats with hip-hop influences.
Notably, Aujla, who was nominated for Single of the Year and the TikTok Juno Fan Choice Award, continues to bridge the gap between Punjabi music and mainstream Western pop culture.
