The court has delivered a significant development in the sensational ‘Kamal Kaur Bhabhi’ murder case, which had sent shockwaves across the region. Following an extensive police investigation and the submission of a detailed chargesheet, the court has now framed charges and found two accused guilty, marking the formal commencement of trial proceedings.
According to officials, two of the main accused remain absconding, with one reportedly having fled abroad soon after the crime.
Charges Framed Against Two, Two Still on the Run
On Thursday, the court framed charges against Jaspreet Singh and Nimrat Preet Kaur, both of whom appeared in court and pleaded not guilty, seeking a full trial to prove their innocence.
Meanwhile, the other two key accused — Amritpal Singh Mehron and Ranjit Singh — are still on the run.
Prime Accused Allegedly Fled to UAE
Police sources revealed that prime accused Amritpal Singh Mehron allegedly fled to the United Arab Emirates (UAE) shortly after the murder. The whereabouts of co-accused Ranjit Singh remain unknown.
Investigating agencies have also hinted at the possible involvement of a fifth, unidentified individual, whose identity is yet to be determined. The court will now proceed to examine witness testimonies and evidence in the upcoming hearings, while police continue efforts to trace the absconding suspects and uncover the wider network behind the crime.
