Kamal Kaur, widely known as Kamal Kaur ‘Bhabhi’, a well-known social media influencer in Punjab has passed away. She was found dead inside her car in the parking lot of Adesh Medical University in Bathinda on Wednesday. The vehicle, registered in Ludhiana, was noticed by locals due to a foul odour emanating from it, sparking a police investigation into the circumstances surrounding her death.
Authorities have launched a probe after initial findings hinted at some suspicious elements, with police officials describing the situation as “fishy” and withholding further details pending investigation.
Kaur, a resident of Ludhiana, had more than 3.8 lakh followers on social media. She often shared videos and pictures that challenged traditional and conservative cultural norms in Punjab. Her content was sometimes seen as explicit or inappropriate by sections of society, leading to debates about morality and decency online.
According to reports, Kaur’s real name was Kanchan Kumari and she was believed to be in her mid-30s. The report added that in October last year, Kaur had received threats from Canada-based Khalistani terrorist Arsh Dalla who asked her to stop posting inappropriate videos.
