Punjabi singer Gulab Sidhu has issued a public apology to the sarpanchs of Punjab following backlash over the lyrics of his recently released track, “Jatta Love You.” The singer faced criticism on social media after a line in the song was deemed disrespectful by a section of users.
The contentious lyric — “Sane Sarpanch saara pind kutt deyun” — quickly sparked outrage, prompting Sidhu to issue a clarification through a video statement. In his response, the singer explained that the line was never intended to offend or target anyone, and was written purely for entertainment purposes. He further added that if his words had hurt anyone’s sentiments, he should be forgiven, considering him as a younger brother.
Along with the video, Sidhu shared a heartfelt caption in Punjabi, writing:
The singer’s apology was well-received by many on social media, who appreciated his humility and willingness to address the issue.
Meanwhile, “Jatta Love You” — featuring Pranjal Dahiya as the female lead — continues to trend online for its peppy vibe and catchy beats.
