The much awaited documentary on rapper Yo Yo Honey Singh’s life has finally been released on Netflix and is garnering mixed reviews by his fans. The documentary also shows parts of his disturbed married life. The artist was married to childhood sweetheart Shalini Talwar and after being together for close to a decade, the marriage ended in a divorce. He has cleared the air around all allegations made against him and his family, including his ex-wife’s role as his previous manager.
“We’ve both signed an MoU, so we can’t talk about it. But I wish her all the best in her life. I wish her a great life ahead. It’s like I said before, right? It’s all a circle. This circle, it keeps turning, keeps coming back. Everything finds balance. Like the old saying, what goes around comes around. I believe in this” he said, explaining how he could not throw light on what went down between the couple.
His sister added that it was a very dark time for them as a family. “Who all do we have to prove? Nobody will believe us because the world outside was a very difficult place and all the controversies that were happening…” she proclaimed.
She also explained that during one of his tours, he was not mentally stable and was refusing to perform, but was forced to continue by his ex-wife. “I was in my room. He messaged me that something is not right with me. He said can you come on Skype. And then he said, ‘Mujhe please bacha lo, gudiya mujhe please bacha le‘. And then he disconnected. I was trying to reach out to Shalini” she exclaimed.
“He has to do this show. You convince him to do this show’. I said I can’t. He told me that he isn’t feeling okay and that something bad is happening. For three hours, there was no contact with them. Three hours later, I’m told that he’s in the hospital with stitches in his head” she added.
